Philosophy

The word philosophy is a Greek word which means "love of wisdom".  It's the search for truth and meaning.  If you've ever spent time wondering about why life and living are the way they are then you've philosophized because when all is said and done philosophy is about thinking.  It's not just about conscious thinking though it's about all thinking and that's where it can get interesting!

There's an old saying that says:  "If you want to change your life, change your mind".  Some may find that phrase hard to digest at least the first time you roll it around in your head, but sooner or later most of us truly do come to realize that what we think does indeed create our reality.  O.k.  I'll take back "most".  I'll replace it with "a lot" of people feel that way and I'm one of them.  In a strange way I guess I'd have to say that I always knew about and believed in the power of thought, but when I first saw the concept laid out in black and white even I fought it for a bit.  It's both a relief as well as a bit daunting when we come to realize just how much power we each have and how much control over our lives and living we have.

With the power of thought in mind I now share with you some of the Philosophers and Philosophies that I have found interesting and enlightening.  I hope you will too!
