Ego If you've spent at least one millisecond in the ~Spiritual~ Realm than you've heard the catch phrase: "To transcend the ego one must come to know their ego." I don't know who actually said it first and in all likelihood no one does, but a good portion of people in the ~Spiritual~ Realm spit it out like it was water and they were a fountain. The ironic thing about it all is that if someone is telling you that, couldn't *that* be construed as egotistical expression since they're giving unsolicited advice? When a statement like that is directed to a particular individual it's even more ridiculous. How does anyone else know what's ego centric to anyone else? I'll explain what I mean.... In Astrology,
the sign "Leo" is the sign that is associated with the ego. It's ruling
planet is the sun and the sun's symbol is a circle with a dot in the middle of
it. Why a circle and why a dot? Well, some will tell you that the
reason is because Leo is all inclusive. They will tell you that
Leo's main objective, like it's icon the Sun, is to shine. O.k. That
I agree with, but, where the next step in logic comes from befuddles me.
Why do people think that it's "logical" to believe that one who wants to shine
wants to be the ONLY one who wants to shine? What I think Leo is all about
really is fining it's own way of shining and that that has nothing at all to do
with the way others shine. Of course there are higher and lower
expressions of everything in the Universe and I'm quite sure that there are
people out there in the Universe expressing the Leo energy within them in a
competitive/"Look at me and only me" kind of way but that doesn't mean that
that's all Leo is about nor the only way to express it. Love &
Light~*
