Okay, let’s start this whole thing off right and set the record straight before
I even touch the “Sixth Sense” aspect of it all. I’m like that you know. I just
have to follow every step. Very rare are times when I leave any stone unturned.
If I must say so myself, I have a “legal” kind of mind and therefore impeccable
logic! Of course I may not do anything once the stone is turned….but at least I
do turn it! Hey, at least I know my shortcomings!
All right, here goes, I don’t think you have to be a Sherlock Holmes to realize
that most of us are blessed enough to hear, see, touch, taste and smell, right?
Of course I’m right! Sorry but I do that too sometimes … answer my own
questions! It sure does cut down on the number of arguments in your life and you
may or may not believe this but it’s actually kind of a higher form of
~debating~! Yep! That’s it all right! Worldclass debating! Are you still here?
O.K., Sorry…..I’m getting to the rest of it right now.
Anyway, that little list I mentioned up above is what’s commonly known as our 5
senses which like I stated we pretty much all have. Of course I could really be
a stickler here and totally set the record straight by saying that some people
technically have the five senses but their productivity is a wee bit “fuzzy” so
they may be borderlineish if you were to actually count them. Let’s take my Mom
for example. (I know…Surprise! Surprise!) See, technically speaking she can see
and hear, right along with the touching, tasting and smelling…but that’s only if
you don’t factor in the bifocals she wears. The: “ARE THE KIDS UP YET” that I
get every single solitary morning at 5:30 AM. (Isn’t that so nice of her???) is
another clue that her hearing also isn’t quite what it used to be. However,
there is a flip side, a good flip side, to having one (or even more) of your
senses impared. It does seem to make the other ones stronger. It’s pretty much
common knowledge that a blind person can hear exceptionally well! Observe
someone who’s trying to remember something. Don’t they close their eyes? What
they’re actually doing is tuning out other stimuli. They’re trying to focus all
of their energies into one task!
Moving on, we’re now at the point of talking about the Sixth Sense which is also
known as ESP or Extra Sensory Perception. Put simply, it is a “knowing” that
does not come about through the usual 5 senses.
So, who has ESP you’re probably asking? Is it only a select few? Are you born
with it? That’s what most people ask! The answer is that we all have ESP. All of
us have experienced it at work too! Of course as is usual with everything in
life, some are born with theirs much more fully developed and some unfortunately
tune out the information that does come to them through their Sixth Sense. We
never lose our ability to choose freely and so some choose to ignore what they
come to “know”…all because it can’t be “explained” in the usual way! I myself
used to be one of those people.
The Sixth Sense has other names too in addition to ESP. Some call it intuition.
Others call it psychic ability or even a “gut feeling”. Regardless of what you
call it…it is having information without any solid facts to base it on. Only the
test of time will bare out whether or not it was correct….and it usually always
is! Of course this acceptance of information without any proof is quite unusual
from the way we’re normally taught to view the world, isn’t it? It takes a
little bit of getting used to, but it can be done!
Have you ever thought about someone you haven’t had contact with in a long time
and all of a sudden they call you? When the phone rings…do you more often than
not know who is calling? Have you ever felt that someone close (a loved one)
needed you and you came to their rescue just in the nick of time when they
hadn’t even put out an S.O.S. call for you? I’m sure all of the above has
happened to you from time to time. I know it has for me! In my house the women
are pretty intuitive. Truthfully I think most women are in touch with their
intuition and seem to be much more comfortable with it than men are. I don’t
know why, but it usually stands true across the board. My own daughter is so
very intuitive! Honestly, I am as well, but in the past I’ve “intellectualized”
it away. Naturally I was sorry later. I’m now learning to go with the flow much
more and I’m trusting that gut feeling, and I can tell you without a doubt that
it is…the way to go!
We play this little game in my family. Especially my daughter and I. (My husband
and son, affectionately known as “the boys” in this house can laugh all they
want.) It’s really an ESP test of sorts but we make it fun. I’ll tell you what
we do and then maybe you can give it a try. I’d also love to hear about your
experiences and if you find yourself successful or not. Okay. Get ready! I have
done this with both numbers and colors but we’ll use colors for this set of
instructions! Choose one person to be the designated “sender” and one person to
be the designated “receiver”. What the “receiver” has to do is clear their mind
of everything. (Of course for some people, this will be an absolute breeze.) The
“sender” then picks a particular color like red. Not only does the sender decide
on red but in their mind they say the word red, they picture red, they picture a
“specific” red (like say a red ball or red apple) and most importantly they also
feel the red. Red is heat! Feel the heat! Once the sender has been in his/her
sending mode for a few seconds they then tell the receiver to picture a blank
blackboard in front of them. The next step is asking them what color is
appearing on their blackboard. For example: When I use green…I feel the
coolness….I picture a grassy knoll. When I use blue….I feel calm and peace…I
picture the sky! Do you understand what I mean now? Can you see what I’m getting
at? When I use numbers I trace the number on the “blackboard” in addition to
saying it in my mind!
As far as success rate is concerned….I have found that with some people I just
“click” and some I don’t! I also found out that personally I’m a better sender
than a receiver but I can do it both ways. Another interesting thing I noticed
is that you can actually tell/feel when a person changes their mind! It happens
all the time to me! On so many occasions I’ll say to the person “sending” that
I’m confused because now I get say a red but a minute ago I was getting a blue.
The answer is usually that they changed their mind mid stream! It really does
work and it’s pretty awesome to be able to feel someone else’s thoughts!!! I
think of it as a game/test…and exercise! I really do believe that it helps to
fine tune that innate ability that we already have! Practice does make perfect!
Doesn’t a baby have to practice walking before they can run? Be patient with
yourself! I’ve been playing this game all of my life! And yes, I’ve played with
my Mother…who happens to be great at it! Don’t be surprised or discouraged if
you fail at first! Just keep doing it!
The successes you gain from this exercise will carry over into the broad
spectrum of the entire sixth sense thing and do learn to trust those feelings!
Without feelings….we might all just as well be computers! Feelings are the
~spice~ of life and heightened feelings can only mean...more spice!!!!!!!!!!!
Peace,
Light, and Love.....Always!
